All orders include reinforced packaging to protect your supplements during transit and a tracking guide that you receive by email.

💊 Products & Supplements

Are the products original?

All the supplements we sell at PROVIF are 100% original and we purchase them directly from authorized distributors. Every product has a seal of authenticity, a valid expiration date, and sanitary registration. We do not sell generic formulas, imitations, or products of doubtful import. If you have questions about the authenticity of any brand, our nutritionists can guide you on how to verify an original supplement.

What protein do you recommend if I want to lose weight?

If your goal is to lose weight without losing muscle mass, a whey isolate protein is the best option because it has high protein content (90%+) with minimal carbohydrates and fats. However, the right protein depends on your total diet, activity level, and lactose tolerance. In the PROVIF Nutritional Clinic our nutritionists evaluate your body composition and design a plan that includes the appropriate supplementation for you. Check out our proteins section to see available options.

What is the best protein powder to gain muscle mass?

To gain muscle mass, whey protein is the most backed by science thanks to its complete amino acid profile and rapid absorption. The ISSN (International Society of Sports Nutrition) recommends consuming between 1.6 and 2.2 grams of protein per kilogram of body weight per day to maximize muscle synthesis. If you're looking for something more affordable, a whey concentrate works very well; if you want less lactose and more purity, a whey isolate is ideal. At PROVIF Tijuana we have both options from certified brands, and our nutritionists help you choose according to your goals.

What supplements should a beginner in the gym take?

If you are just starting in the gym, the three supplements with the most scientific evidence are: whey protein, creatine monohydrate, and a quality multivitamin. You don't need more than that at first. Protein helps you cover your daily requirement (1.6–2.2 g/kg according to ISSN), creatine improves your strength and performance from the first weeks (3–5 g daily), and the multivitamin covers potential deficiencies. At PROVIF you will find pharmaceutical-grade creatine monohydrate options, and if you have questions, our nutritionists in Tijuana can design a personalized plan from your first consultation.

How much protein do I need a day to gain muscle?

According to the official position of the ISSN, you need between 1.6 and 2.2 grams of protein per kilogram of body weight per day to optimize muscle gain. For example, if you weigh 75 kg, your ideal range is 120 to 165 grams of protein daily, distributed in 3 to 5 meals. If you don't reach that number with food alone (chicken, eggs, fish, dairy), a whey protein supplement helps you close the gap practically. At the PROVIF Nutritional Clinic we calculate your exact requirement based on your body composition, training level, and goals.

What is the difference between whey isolate and concentrate?

Whey concentrate protein has between 70–80% protein per serving and retains some lactose and fat, while isolate exceeds 90% purity with minimal lactose. In muscle performance, both are effective — the main difference is in digestion and tolerance. If you are lactose intolerant or looking for a cleaner option in calories, isolate is better. If you are looking for a good price-quality ratio and have no digestive issues, concentrate works perfectly. Both options are available at PROVIF Tijuana.

Is creatine safe or does it have side effects?

Creatine monohydrate is the most studied supplement in the world and has been declared safe by the ISSN, EFSA, and multiple meta-analyses published in JISSN. It does not damage the kidneys in healthy people, does not cause baldness, and is not a steroid. The recommended dose is 3 to 5 grams daily, with no need for a loading phase or cycling. The only common effect is a slight weight gain from intramuscular water retention, which is normal and beneficial for performance. Find pharmaceutical-grade creatine monohydrate at PROVIF.

What are BCAAs for and when to take them?

BCAAs (branched-chain amino acids: leucine, isoleucine, and valine) help reduce post-exercise muscle damage and may decrease fatigue during prolonged workouts. However, if you already consume enough quality whey protein (which already contains BCAAs), the additional benefit is minimal according to recent JISSN studies. They are more useful if you train fasted, do very long sessions (+90 min), or follow a low-protein diet. You can take them before or during your workout. Check out the amino acid options available at PROVIF.

Are pre-workouts bad for your health?

A good quality pre-workout is not harmful if used at the indicated dose and you have no cardiovascular contraindications. Most contain caffeine (150–300 mg per serving), beta-alanine, and citrulline — ingredients studied and safe within recommended ranges. The risk appears when exceeding the dose, combining with other sources of caffeine, or using them if you have uncontrolled hypertension. If you have questions, the PROVIF nutritionists can review your history and tell you if a pre-workout is right for you. Explore our options in the creatine and pre-workout section.

What supplements help lose weight without losing muscle?

To lose fat while preserving muscle mass, the most science-backed combination is: whey protein (to maintain muscle synthesis in a caloric deficit), creatine monohydrate (to preserve strength), and a nutritional plan with a moderate deficit. Fat burners alone do not work without a proper diet and training. In the PROVIF Nutritional Clinic we design weight management plans with body composition tracking so you lose fat, not muscle. Complement with proteins and creatine from our store.

How to know if a supplement is original and not fake?

To verify a supplement's authenticity, look for: an intact security seal, printed expiration date (not a sticker), readable barcode, brand hologram when applicable, and that the seller is an authorized distributor. Imitations of popular brands circulate in Mexico that may contain undeclared ingredients or incorrect doses. Buying from verified stores like PROVIF Tijuana guarantees you an original product with direct traceability from the manufacturer. If you already bought a product and doubt its authenticity, come to our store for guidance.

🩺 Consultations & Advice

How do I schedule a nutritional consultation?

You can schedule your consultation with our nutritionists directly from the Nutritional Clinic page or via WhatsApp. The process is simple: choose the time that suits you, we confirm by message, and you arrive at your appointment. In the first consultation, a body composition evaluation, dietary history, and training goals assessment are performed. With that, your nutritionist designs a personalized nutritional plan. We attend at our clinic in Tijuana and also offer virtual consultations for those in San Diego or out of town.

Are the consultations in-person or online?

PROVIF offers both modalities: in-person consultations at our clinic in Tijuana and virtual consultations via video call for people anywhere in Mexico or the United States. Both include a complete nutritional evaluation, personalized meal plan, and follow-up. The in-person modality has the advantage of including body composition measurement with professional equipment. The virtual one is ideal if you live in San Diego, another city in Mexico, or simply prefer the comfort of your home. Schedule from the Nutritional Clinic page.

🥗 Nutrition & Training

What should a nutritional plan include?

A good nutritional plan includes: calculation of calories and macronutrients (protein, carbohydrates, fats) according to your goal, meal distribution around training, hydration, and supplementation if necessary. A plan to gain muscle mass is not the same as one to cut or for an endurance sport. At PROVIF, the nutritionists in our Nutritional Clinic design evidence-based plans (ISSN, ACSM) tailored to your body, schedule, and budget. Each plan is adjusted in follow-up consultations based on your actual progress.

Can a protein smoothie replace a meal?

A protein smoothie can work as an occasional replacement if it includes protein, carbohydrates, healthy fats, and fiber — not if it's just protein powder with water. For it to be a complete meal, add fruit, oats, or peanut butter to the shake. However, it is not recommended to regularly replace more than one meal a day, because solid foods provide micronutrients and fiber that a shake does not 100% cover. At PROVIF we prepare functional smoothies designed with nutritionists to complement your diet, not to replace it.

Can an online nutrition consultation be done from the United States?

Yes, PROVIF offers virtual nutrition consultations for people in San Diego, California, and anywhere in the United States. The consultation is via video call, includes a full nutritional assessment, personalized meal plan, and follow-up in Spanish or English. It is a popular option among border community members looking for a certified nutritionist at affordable prices compared to the US. Schedule your virtual consultation from the Nutritional Clinic page.

🏋️ Equipment

What gym equipment do I need to train at home?

For a functional home gym, the essentials are: an adjustable dumbbell set, a barbell with plates, an adjustable bench, and resistance bands. With that equipment, you can cover the main strength exercises for the upper and lower body. If you have more budget, a multi-functional machine or a squat rack raises the level considerably. At PROVIF Tijuana we have fitness equipment from professional brands with warranties, and we advise you on building your gym according to your space and budget.
